Uta Kästner (*1982) is a painter and photographer based in Berlin.
She grew up on the outskirts of a small town in East Germany, later moved to Leipzig, studied mediadesign, moved to Berlin, worked there in media -and photodesign and was hiking some thousands of km by feet in different countries before she decided to start painting in 2021.
Her mostly abstract and minimalistic work is, amongst other things, influenced by the mix of her hiking trips on ancient abandoned pilgrim trails, the Berlin big city life and through all mainly time and consciousness.
